About The Position

SUMMARY: Coordinates and assist with activities of associates engaged in maintaining and operating all equipment by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Train and assist associates on performing preventive maintenance assignments. Be able to perform machine set up, operate machinery in a safe manner, and ensure equipment safety features are in place and functioning properly. Make sure scrap is recorded accurately and disposed of daily and Ensure rework is completed at end of day. Fill in for associates when necessary. Understand and be able to operate and assist individual process stations on all equipment. Capable of performing lock out and tag out procedures for clearing all equipment faults and restoring machine energy in accordance with LOTO procedure. Inform Team Leader or Production Manager of any and all quality / safety issues. Accurate completion of paperwork and data entry. Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen and all elements of SQDCME. 10. Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications. 11. Train and assist all associates on adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. Train associates on safety related processes. 12. Analyzes and provide inputs to resolves work problems or assists associates in solving work problems. 13. Assist on monitoring absenteeism and maintains time and production records. 14. Conducted cross training of associates to include maintaining and verifying performance levels and updating records. Keeping records of progress. 15. Follows lead operators and team leader’s direction during emergencies. Understands and follows the response procedures for all types of emergency events. 16. Assist on monitoring and maintaining all TPM Goals (Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, In-Process Defects and Downtime Frequency). 17. Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Health, Safety and Environmental. Associates as part of their accountability to monitor controls effectively to meet requirements, and to report to department management as to compliance with these requirements. Must be able to do maintenance on the equipment in their specific work areas. As well as make necessary adjustments to the machines to produce quality parts. Must be able to do basic TPM activities for the equipment in their work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to read and analyze information.
  • Ability to write reports and work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Develop and maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork.
  • Know all Potential work and Environmental Hazards.
  • PPE Requirements: Safety glasses and any other required PPE according to the SWI for the jobs you may be doing.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit and talk and hear.
  • Regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years manufacturing experience (preferred experience with Heartland Automotive).
  • Knowledge of Pareto Charts.
