About The Position

The Process Tech is responsible for accurate mold set-ups, start-ups, and process monitoring of part runs. This role also involves processing in and qualifying T0 and New Tool Set-Ups to develop a stabilized process, working in conjunction with a Project Engineer and/or Project Manager. Key responsibilities include monitoring production for accuracy and efficiency, collaborating with Quality Techs to ensure part quality and performance, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. The Process Tech is expected to communicate effectively with prior and oncoming shifts to ensure production requirements are met and to lead groups of employees with varying molding skill levels. Additional duties encompass material handling, monitoring auxiliary equipment, performing minor maintenance, and working with Project Engineers and Leadmen to improve mold design. The role also requires making lists of items needing repair after mold samples, marking up parts for leadmen and polishers, and mixing and drying resins according to schedules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a process setup technician in the field of plastic injection molding with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Nissie Molding Presses
  • Proficiency with a large range of resins (PP, HIPS, ABS, PC-ABS, PC, PA6, PA66, PVC (Rigid and Flexible), HDPE, LDPE, PBT, PET, TPU)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and/or electrical systems for both relay and solid state machinery
  • Working knowledge of the most current technologies and products used in the industry
  • Pass drug screen
