About The Position

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain. As a Process Scale-up Intern at ABTC, you will have a unique opportunity to work alongside our engineering and R&D teams in scaling up novel battery recycling processes from the lab to pilot-scale production. This internship is designed for individuals who are passionate about engineering and sustainability and wish to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge field. The ideal candidate will assist in the evaluation of current processing methods, contribute to optimization studies, and help with data collection and analysis to support ongoing projects.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data effectively, including experience with software tools for data analysis.
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes and principles, particularly related to battery materials and recycling.
  • Ability to contribute to team projects and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Passion for sustainability and interest in innovative technologies related to battery recycling.
  • Available for a full-time internship during the summer or as required during the academic year.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
