About The Position

As a Process Safety Technician, you will coordinate with our Extraction Team and help us deliver our vision by ensuring our in-field processes meet federal regulations. You will join our Process Safety Engineering Team which performs process hazard analysis (PHA) on a variety of processes for the nuclear industry. You will report to the Process Safety Engineering Manager and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years experience working in a chemical plant or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, including Process Safety Management and Risk Management Planning Regulations preferred.
  • Wear personal protective equipment.
  • Proficiency with drawings, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and other engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in computer software
  • Read and comprehend drawings and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate involvement and participation of all applicable organizations to implement the appropriate plans to meet organizational goals related to PSM / RMP compliance.
  • Maintain records for documenting PSM /RMP compliance.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Report on relevant tasks for PSM / RMP program.
  • Coordinate "management of change" PHAs.
  • Understand and interpret regulation codes like NFPA 30, NFPA 36, NFPA 69, NFPA 86, NFPA 70, NFPA 499 and other related codes.
  • Read in-field drawings such as general layouts, piping and instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and mechanical drawings.
  • Work with project and process engineers regarding future projects, installation needs, coordinating materials and components for proper labeling and tagging.
  • Maintain database of PSM / RMP equipment to ensure identification, tagging and labeling.
  • Ensure that you setup appropriate Preventative Maintenance (PMs) for each equipment and identify spares within our database by working with maintenance and process engineering.
  • Perform in-field audits of applicable processes for compliance with relevant PSM / RMP requirements.
  • Analyze and appraise plant observance to specific elements of PSM /RMP to ensure accomplishment of established requirements and organizational goals.
