About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Process Safety Management (PSM) professional for our Jacksonville, Florida; Charleston, South Carolina; Houston or Dallas, Texas offices. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe. Candidate must be report to one of the office locations listed above daily, unless traveling to client sites. Relocation assistance is available to support this request. Candidates near other EnSafe office locations will be considered. A PSM Professional who is comfortable working directly with our clients to achieve and maintain compliance with the OSHA PSM standard, and provide safety consulting expertise. Practical experience with OSHA’s PSM standard is mandatory. Experience with combustible dust and other traditional safety work, such as machine guarding, lockout tagout, confined spaces, and other activities, is a plus. Candidates with a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering are highly preferred. Candidates with Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credentials are also preferred. We work across various industries, including aerospace, chemical processing, pulp & paper, manufacturing, oil & gas, and automotive. We will capitalize on your technical strengths to help lead our PSM service line, performing work related to the fourteen elements of PSM. Our PSM Professionals travel to client sites primarily across the Southeastern area; however, your work assignments can take you across the country. You will grow into managing projects and developing business with current and new clients.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in the scientific field is required, with chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 10 years+ of experience, including consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in using process safety software and tools (PHAPro software).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • A working knowledge of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices related to chemical processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel overnight. Up to 50% travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with combustible dust and other traditional safety work, such as machine guarding, lockout tagout, confined spaces, and other activities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating process hazard analysis (PHAs) using the hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and/or other methodologies. Experience with PHAPro is a plus.
  • Conducting OSHA PSM & U.S EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance audits. In-depth knowledge of the fourteen elements of PSM and RMP requirements is required.
  • Developing PSM programs and procedures that address the 14 PSM elements to help clients achieve and maintain compliance with the PSM standard.
  • Providing PSM training.
  • Performing combustible dust hazard assessments.
  • Leading incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
