Position is working onsite at our Pueblo, CO facility Relocation assistance is available Our Advanced Structures team leverages advanced materials and additive manufacturing to develop complex interior and exterior solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in OSHA process safety management standards and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting PHAs and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in using PSM software tools and systems.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

  • Experience in Aerospace, defense, or related industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Certification in process safety or a related discipline (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, PHA Leader, or similar credentials).
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards and practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 or other applicable standards.
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), such as HAZOP, What-If, or FMEA, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Maintain and update Process Safety Information (PSI), including diagrams, operating procedures, and chemical safety data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and reliability in the design, operation, and maintenance of processes and systems.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver PSM training programs for employees to enhance awareness and competency in process safety.
  • Audit and assess PSM compliance and performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) processes to ensure safe implementation of modifications to equipment, processes, or procedures.
  • Support emergency response planning and preparedness initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, standards, and regulatory changes related to process safety.
  • Identify and manage projects for the Facilities and Operations areas.
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-site teams including engineering, maintenance, quality and production.
  • Develop equipment, systems, processes and procedures for the Pueblo facility and other Carbon Operations sites.
  • Utilize knowledge of engineering and process industry to complete equipment selection, system layout, design and P&IDs.
  • Support programming and configuration of distributed control system (DeltaV)
  • Prepare presentations and communicate proposed activities and their associated risks to the management team.
