About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Process Safety Management Engineer to join our Engineering and Software team in Santa Clara, CA. As a Process Safety Management Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs for clients in the oil, gas, and chemical industries. You will conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) using methodologies such as HAZOP, FMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis, and perform audits of existing PSM programs to ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will lead the implementation of Mechanical Integrity Programs, utilizing Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) software to optimize inspection strategies and resource allocation. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, particularly OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.119 and EPA's Risk Management Program, and the ability to provide expert guidance to clients. The position also involves delivering training sessions on PSM best practices and regulatory compliance, as well as providing pre-sales and sales support for Intertek's Aware Software. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Process Safety Management, with expertise in mechanical integrity programs and risk-based inspection methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, are essential for success in this role. The position requires a willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time to client sites, with occasional weekend work as needed.
