About The Position

Flint Hills Resources in Corpus Christi, Texas, has a robust safety presence in the refining and chemical industries and desires to continue developing our Process Safety team. We are currently seeking a Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to join our team of Process Safety Professionals at our Corpus Christi, TX refinery. As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be directly responsible for support and oversight of one or more Process Safety Management programs at the Corpus Christi Refinery.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree.
• A minimum of 2 years process safety engineering or process engineering experience.
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Petroleum Refinery or comparable manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years' work experience within a Petrochemical Refinery or comparable manufacturing environment.
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Practical/applied experience in Process Safety Engineering or related Operational Support.
• Certified PHA Facilitator.
• Experience working in a management program including implementing standards/procedures/training.

Responsibilities

• Partner with key operations, maintenance, and technical support groups to achieve the shared vision for Operational Process Safety.
• Apply PSM standards and industry best practices.
• Own management systems and conduct routine interaction and auditing.
• Work alongside leadership and PSM technical experts.
• Lead PHA studies or equivalent risk assessment activities.
• Oversee certain PSM programs and supporting software systems.
