Requirements

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Process engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of process safety management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with incident investigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of (HAZOP) techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates Process Safety risk management by coaching and supporting line management and shop floor staff to identify, analyze and evaluate process safety, health and environmental risks.
  • Implements process safety engineering toolbox guidelines and corrective actions within the NA sites.
  • Provides process safety leadership, expertise & guidance to operations while ensuring key stakeholders are fully involved.
  • Carries out process safety internal audits and oversees corrective actions to drive continuous improvements regarding Process Safety within the region.
  • Works with regional engineering and sites to develop and implement a concrete roll out plan for process risk assessment (PRA) for existing processes and site projects.
  • Provides training and hands-on coaching through leading and/or facilitating the process risk assessment (PRA) with site and project team.
  • Provides process safety consulting support and recommends optimal solutions to the engineering, project, operation and business teams.
  • Provides focused process safety support to major engineering projects to ensure process risk and corrective action are addressed.
  • Facilitates or participates in the root cause analysis and accident investigation of process safety incidents.
  • Collaborates with sites to promote process safety learnings in the region.
