About The Position

As a Process Safety Engineer Intern, you will work with a variety of teams in order to assist with PSM efforts at one or more manufacturing sites. You will gain hands-on working experience to demonstrate your educational skills and gain industry knowledge. The internship will last for 10 - 12 weeks and offers a pay of $24.00 an hour. You will develop skills that will allow you to excel in your educational program and get practical experience in a professional environment. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and generate new ideas within the team, provide engineering knowledge to define your skill set, and develop further skills to help you confidently reach your education and/or professional goals. You will work alongside and learn from a diverse group of leaders and create relationships to start building your professional network. Additionally, you will be assigned a dedicated mentor to provide you with valuable coaching and feedback to ensure you are reaching your goals, and you will be provided with a dedicated internship coordinator to ensure ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Junior level standing pursuing Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Environmental or Industrial Engineering
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player

Responsibilities

  • Assist with facilitating of Process Hazard Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis studies
  • Support various existing process safety programs such as Management of Change (MOC) program site wide
  • Drive process safety through identification of corrective actions and managing the improvement through closure
  • Work with the operations team to learn and understand how the plants operate and gain knowledge of best practices
  • Collaborate with Operations, Management, and Engineering staff to complete given tasks
