About The Position

As a Process Quality Tech at Lamb Weston, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process. Your role will involve compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. You will grade products using established procedures and specifications, and record and inform the appropriate personnel of the product quality being processed as required. This position requires maintaining safe work practices and participating in safety programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English.
  • Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate all equipment and tools used in the lab.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work with or around lab chemicals and industrial cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and record accurately on Q.A. forms and report any irregularities of product exceeding established limits.
  • Use approved procedures to sample and evaluate product attributes such as length, defects, color, texture, solids, packaging waste, case weights, case integrity, product temperatures, and additive levels.
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process and test products for various qualities.
  • Record test data and apply statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluate data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Perform weekend cleanup as required.
