About The Position

The Process Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for driving process & product quality by reducing defects within repair processes. Successful candidates will partner with cross functional teams to build quality into each step of the repair. Process Quality Engineer will develop Quality Management System expertise to support the leadership in maintaining compliance and striving for excellence through continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (preferably in Engineering - Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical or related technical engineering background); OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial or similar industry.
  • 3 years' experience working with new product introduction qualification of products or methods for manufacturing or repair processes (Or has completed the GE VERNOVA / GE OMLP program).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Quality Management System/QMS (IE: ISO 9001 requirements).
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within a power generation repair business.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others within a team environment.
  • Good understanding of workshop practices/processes.
  • Strong communication & organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office minimum).
  • Proactive with high level of integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute qualification requirement for new repair methods for Gas Turbine Rotors being transferred to facility.
  • Build in quality to drive a ‘zero defect' culture with Quality, sustaining operations compliance to regulatory & non-regulatory requirements.
  • Drive and lead problem solving activities deploying corrective and preventative actions to reduce defects and eliminate reoccurring quality defects.
  • Daily support to the operations team to ensure compliance and development of repair methods and to Quality Management System procedures.
  • Resolution of actions relating to non-conformance reports, Stop Works Events and Quality Concerns.
  • Lead defect reduction projects and work inclusively with Operations and Engineering to resolve shop floor quality issues promptly.
  • Champion quality initiatives and CoPQ reduction projects in the cell.
  • Conduct assigned internal audits to ensure compliance to local procedures.
  • Support training activities for all employees relating to quality.
