Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Process Quality Engineer supports plant safety, ensures product compliance, and leads process optimization through data analysis and engineering principles. The role manages testing, drives improvement projects, and collaborates with production teams to resolve issues and enhance performance. Using tools like Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC, the engineer standardizes processes, improves quality, and coaches operators. Additional responsibilities include monitoring operations, maintaining data systems, and strengthening supplier relationships to support long-term competitiveness. What's in it for you? Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field required.
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in process engineering, operations, or continuous improvement roles required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions.
  • Experience with VBA coding for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams and with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, and SPC methodologies.
  • Ability to coach and train others in process control and standard work practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle medium to large scope initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven track record of leading process optimization initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Experience working directly with customers to investigate and resolve product quality issues.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for quality and performance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in safety audits and risk assessments to support a safe work environment.
  • Ensures product attributes consistently meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads process optimization and root cause analysis using scientific and engineering principles.
  • Investigates process issues through data analysis and direct observation at the production line.
  • Identifies and implements immediate corrective actions when feasible.
  • Plans and conducts factory tests to validate process changes and improvements.
  • Develops test plans, oversees execution, adjusts processes during trials, evaluates results, and documents findings.
  • Recommends and initiates follow-up actions based on test outcomes.
  • Serves as project leader and hands-on contributor for medium to large initiatives, including cost reduction, quality enhancement, new product development, energy efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Applies scientific and technical knowledge across all levels of manufacturing to improve performance and quality.
  • Works closely with operators, production leaders, and technical staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Provides expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Uses these tools to identify performance gaps and lead improvement projects.
  • Coaches operators on process control techniques and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develops, refines, and implements standard work procedures and ensures process adherence across the workforce.
  • Investigates customer complaints, identifies root causes, and collaborates with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Drives product quality improvements through structured problem-solving and engineering principles.
  • Creates and maintains systems for process data collection and analysis.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with suppliers to enhance product quality and gain competitive advantage.
  • Monitors daily operations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
