About The Position

Join Perstorp Polyols Inc. as a Process Operator in Toledo, OH, where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining chemical process units in a full-time, hourly position. This role involves monitoring equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and performing preventive maintenance while working on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a chemical plant, refinery, power plant, or similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of batch and continuous chemical manufacturing.
• Experience with Emerson Delta V DCS and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read and understand technical documents including PFDs and P&IDs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic typing skills for interfacing with process computers and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in distillation, filtration, separation, storage, shipping, and chemical reactions preferred.
• Basic lab and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and conduct preventive maintenance on chemical process units.
• Perform minor maintenance and oversee repairs by preparing equipment and supervising maintenance personnel.
• Make rounds to check equipment operation, detect and report process disturbances, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments.
• Safely start up and shut down equipment, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain thorough documentation and reporting of all work performed, including equipment repairs and process adjustments.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all work areas, including equipment, tools, and control rooms.
• Understand and follow written and verbal orders, work as a team member to achieve operational goals, and actively participate in EHSQ programs.
