BUSINESS CONTEXT: Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants, as well as a host of other chemical intermediates including Glycol Ethers, Polyethlene Glycols, Ethanolamines, and Alkyl Alkanolamines. INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs). We currently have a total EO and EOD capacity of 920 kta spread across five different production units throughout Europe and the US. These units have leading cost economics, due to economies of scale, state-of-the-art technology, strategic locations, etc. Our EO project in the US is targeting the fast-growing merchant EO market, building on our experience and leadership position in Europe. Purpose of the Job: Operate field equipment, using the company discipline principles in the production units. Monitor equipment as a preventative maintenance measure and maintaining a safe and environmentally sound environment. Operate the process control boards in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Maintain a continuous learning ambition to gain knowledge and skills to enable an operator to rotate in each job role in their area based on the outlined time frame in the training matrix. This individual will address all immediate activities associated with producing chemicals in their qualified production units. A successful candidate will begin on the job training and progress by qualifying on all outside jobs with the expectation to become a board technician. These activities will be performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner and according to company policies and procedures. The individual will work in a team environment and rotate through these job functions as his skill levels progress. This individual will address all immediate activities associated with producing chemicals in the production units.
