About The Position

Applies basic, and some intermediate technical skills and knowledge to perform all of the primary work operations required to chemically clean to remove grease, scale, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or parts for operational aircraft applications. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Performs routine developmental learning assignments and applies standard solutions to work situations of a routine or repetitive nature. May perform a variety of routine duties related to the area to which assigned. Work operations are closely supervised by work instructions requiring little or no judgment. Reviews work instructions, operations manuals, blue prints and other documentation to define the requirement for the processing of the parts are material to be cleaned. Reads pick ticket to determine the parts to be processed. Ensures parts picked are correct for the pick order and hangs the parts on the process rack per instructions. Assists in loading process racks onto the clean line conveyor for processing through the various cleaning and rinsing tanks as required. Assists in selecting the computer operating programs that control the clean line equipment, monitors the process line equipment, makes adjustments to equipment as required to ensure proper overall operation of the clean line. Assists in monitoring the chemical solution in the process tanks to maintain the specified liquid level and chemical mixture of the process tanks. Adds specified amount of chemical to solutions as directed. Confirms right parts have been processed and kits are complete then distribute to appropriate areas. Assists in draining, cleaning and refilling process tanks with chemicals on a periodic basis or as otherwise instructed. Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED.
  • If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Reads and processes specifications and work instructions.
  • Knowledgeable of processing equipment and powered lifting vehicles as required.
  • Capable of using standard hand tools and special tools or equipment for the assigned area of work.
  • Respirator training, certification and fit test. Must be clean shaven at the respirator seal.
  • Ability to learn tasks and processes that are not related to the primary job assignment.
  • Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required.
  • Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
