About The Position

The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee of this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of this position. Process raw materials (such as Copper alloys, Aluminum alloys, Titanium alloys, Superalloys, Specialty steels and any other materials that the company deals with in ingots, billets, bars, etc.) Advise sales on technical aspects of a "request for quote (RFQ)” through an interpretation of specifications or manufacturability Review customer documentation to determine the requirements of the order during contract review Prepare, update and refine the historical property data (grain size, mechanicals and any metallurgical data, etc.) to evaluate the capabilities of the company. The preceding supports the quoting, design and design improvement processes Ensure that proper thermomechanical processing is implemented Become familiar with AMS2750E, pyrometry and NADCAP requirements regarding forge and heat treatment furnaces. Help in NADCAP accreditation efforts. When applicable, plot internal heat treat furnace charts Contribute to continuous improvement analyses to ensure the product being manufactured will satisfy quality requirements and meet or exceed cost objectives. Raise Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and advise corrections for implementation Develop ideas to solve engineering and manufacturing challenges from current and potential customers Participate in any product or process failure investigations and help provide solutions under supervision and guidance Interface with customers on technical aspects of the order, interact with heat treat facilities/test houses and review reports to help progress the manufacturing process. Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least two years of related experience and/or equivalent education & experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Prior experience working with an ERP/MRP system is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in raw material specifications and raw material alloys manufacturing techniques such as, ((EAF, AOD, VIM, VAR, ESR, hot working to make billets, bars etc.), mechanical behavior of materials, machining, NDT (Liquid penetrant, Ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing), Destructive testing (tensile, stress rupture, fatigue, creep, fracture Toughness)
  • Metallurgical knowledge of alloy families including, Copper base alloys, Aluminum base alloys, Iron base alloys, Titanium base alloys, Superalloys and Specialty steels is preferred
  • Previous experience working with forging simulation software is a plus
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Position is required to be on-site, occasional work from home with supervisor approval is available
