Who are we looking for? We're looking for a Process Mechanical Intern to conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Very limited work based experience (0 to 3 months)
  • No managerial experience

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Interpret data and identify possible answers, navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
  • Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to create engineering drawings for the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions, under supervision, to provide feedback and contribute to validation of the design.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards.
  • Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
  • Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Help to install complex systems and conduct inspections of equipment with guidance.
  • Conduct routine tasks in technical troubleshooting, which include basic diagnostic and simple problem-solving tasks related to equipment and experiments.

  • Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 based on experience and location.
