About The Position

General Summary: The Process Mechanical Designer will coordinate design activities with project engineers and with other team members in the Process Mechanical group. The Process Mechanical Designer will participate in the preparation and development of Process Mechanical related project deliverables, ensure project deliverable quality and perform project assignments. The Process Mechanical Designer participates in meetings, provides feedback to management, engineering and project team members, works with other engineers, performs basic system related engineering calculations, participates in design development activities and may assist with implementation support.

Requirements

  • Prefer Bachelor Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Prefer 1 - 5 years of related work experience.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of process system engineering and design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BIM 360 and Navisworks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand basics of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, in general, for which systems will be designed. Mechanical systems could include paint and coating application process & equipment, fluid handling and fill equipment, waste treatment processes and equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
  • Create and plot drawings from sketches and drawing mark-ups.
  • Produce CAD/Revit drawings from engineering mark-ups.
  • Measure, sketch, and verify existing conditions of equipment, building, etc.
  • Retrieve plant reference drawings and perform field data gathering.
  • Understand and be familiar with all applicable governmental (i.e., IBC, ICC, OSHPOD, ASTM, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA) Safety Codes & Standards
  • Review and understand client specifications and Safety Codes & Standards, as they relate to various assignments.
  • Maintain project records, as well as daily personal records of communications and directions given and received.
  • Participate with project teams and clients to prepare or edit project specifications.
  • Participate in client review meetings of drawings and specifications.
  • Produce system as-built/as-installed drawings from red-lined mark-ups.
  • Perform field checking of existing equipment, sites and facilities. This will include traveling to site to review existing systems or equipment, and document.
  • Must be able to travel and accept field assignments to promote project success.
