About The Position

The Process Maintenance Technician will install, operate, and maintain process equipment supporting clinical manufacturing suites, including bioreactors, purification systems, purified water systems, tanks and skids, mixers, blenders, agitators, pumps, heat exchangers, columns, benchtop equipment, and local water systems. The technician will service and repair equipment and systems to meet GXP requirements throughout the clinical manufacturing and R&D laboratory facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing equipment problems, maintaining and updating maintenance records, and following all safety and environmental regulations. The technician will perform periodic equipment inspections following a checklist format and according to a schedule to proactively identify maintenance and repair needs prior to equipment failures. The role also involves directing and assisting other technicians as needed, working on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative, and collaborating effectively with contractors and project management teams from facilities and global engineering. Additionally, the technician will develop or assist in the development of documents required to support the maintenance function and monitor and respond to all assigned Building Management System (BMS) alarms.

Requirements

  • Certificate of completion at a 2-year technical trade school or High School diploma with experience in maintenance trades.
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a biotech setting.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical schematics and diagrams.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years cGMP experience.
  • Experience with specific types of biotech equipment, such as bioreactors, centrifuges, and HPLC systems.
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as electrical or mechanical technologies.
