About The Position

The Process Leader is primarily responsible for maintaining compliance and continuous improvement of the ATI Specialty Materials’ quality management system. This role will support implementation and compliance to customer and industry quality system requirements and continuous improvement in the manufacturing and business functions.

Requirements

  • 4-year College Degree in Engineering or a Quality related field OR Equivalent experience
  • Quality systems or engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.
  • Sufficient knowledge of company, products, objectives and operations.
  • Using a scientific mindset or method in creative problem-solving; such as identifying opportunities in the workplace and applying continuous improvement models to achieve positive results
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to successfully balance multiple projects at various stages with limited supervision in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with and through others to achieved desired results.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and timely thru the implementation of long-term solutions.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to foster collaborations, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams in a manufacturing environment in order to meet objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in aerospace or metals industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standard quality systems tools (ie 8D, Six Sigma, FAI) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into product or process non-compliance and drive implementation of corrective actions, quality improvement projects, and the use of continuous improvement tools.
  • Develop and improve work instructions, quality procedures, and supporting documents for quality and manufacturing business functions.
  • Develop and manage project plans for critical process measurement and improvements.
  • Maintain quality records and modify procedural documents.
  • Implement and trend statistical process control (SPC) on critical processes.
  • Support Operations through monitoring, approving, and improving calibration functions, furnace surveys, and other quality-release processes.
  • Support execution of detrimental material control requirements throughout all operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of customer requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality system improvements, specifically leveraging best practices across manufacturing sites and product families.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that improve the Safety, Right the First Time, and Meet the Forecast.
  • Participate in and support the internal audit program.
  • Work within and/or lead cross-functional teams to develop robust solutions in a proactive manner.
  • Engage in activities that promote growth in knowledge necessary to perform essential tasks.
