About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer/Specialist IV to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and Office of Security (SIS) in Springfield, VA. The role involves providing assistance in the maintenance and support of the NGA PERSEC programs through process improvement initiatives. The candidate will support the execution of the day-to-day NGA PERSEC through these initiatives, ensuring that the Process Improvement team provides timely security support to Personnel Security’s internal and external taskings, projects, and programs. Responsibilities include preparing and administering PERSEC program briefings, writing reports and correspondence, maintaining security procedures, and updating databases related to process improvement initiatives. The position also requires responding to inquiries, assisting in maintaining distribution lists, and providing service excellence in guidance and resolution to customer questions.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance and must be willing to undergo a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field to process improvement techniques.
  • Extensive experience (11-14 years) in application of process improvement techniques, methodologies, and associated tools in the DOD/IC.
  • Extensive experience working process improvement initiatives in process automation with PERSEC systems.
  • Experience with strategic process improvement techniques and mapping (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Management, Agile Management).
  • Experience designing new processes and reviewing current processes for efficiencies.
  • Experience working with multiple teams and customers when conducting process improvement analysis methodologies.
  • Clear and concise writing skills.
  • Positive, engaging communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to ensure process improvement solutions meet required timelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the maintenance and support of the NGA PERSEC programs through process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the execution of the day-to-day NGA PERSEC through process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Process Improvement team members provide timely security support to Personnel Security’s internal and external taskings, projects, and programs.
  • Provide agency level technical expertise concerning personnel security disciplines and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare, support, and administer PERSEC program briefings as needed.
  • Prepare, write, and present reports/whitepapers and various forms of correspondence.
  • Research, prepare, and maintain security procedures/guidance for NGA PERSEC.
  • Brief SISP leadership and other NGA KC’s regarding program requirements and regulations.
  • Maintain and update databases and files with data entry related to process improvement initiatives.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all telephone and/or email actions, questions, or status inquiries.
  • Assist in maintaining distribution lists for customers to contact PERSEC.
  • Bring process improvement initiatives issues to the attention of the Government Team Leads.
  • Assist the government PERSEC team in developing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide service excellence in guidance and resolution to internal and external customers’ questions.
  • Utilize security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and recommend solutions for complex security issues.
  • Document and provide Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions in the designated template and timeline.
  • Provide tailored and innovative process improvement solutions for all Personnel Security areas and teams.
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop automation within PERSEC systems to improve process flow.
  • Work with NGA CIO-T Business Enterprise Services to manage development and support for automation initiatives.
