About The Position

Lead strategic process improvement projects and initiatives across the enterprise to help the organization provide high levels of value to customers and stakeholders while optimizing processes for maximum efficiency. Use standard process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management to achieve aggressive improvement goals across Sammons Financial Group Companies (Sammons Financial Group). Partner with department leaders to develop improvement opportunities and charter projects designed to help meet process performance goals. Serve as a source of process improvement expertise by providing valuable consultation and training that helps to build an overall 'process culture' within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relative field of study such as Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, Science or Mathematics Preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading operational process improvement projects resulting in tangible financial benefits Preferred
  • Process Improvement knowledge and experience Preferred
  • Previous experience in and knowledge of the insurance and financial services industries Preferred
  • Demonstrable results in successfully chartering, facilitating and completing large-scale process improvement projects that delivered substantial, documented and positive business results
  • Very strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to modify and shape communication styles to successfully interact with all levels of employees, including executive leaders
  • Strong data analytic capabilities; demonstrated ability to translate complex performance data to all levels of the business
  • Solid facilitation skills, including the ability to effectively organize and conduct meetings, working sessions, planning sessions and process improvement events with teams, leaders and executives in an engaging manner
  • Demonstrated analytical, strategic and tactical thinking skills
  • Strong PC knowledge, including the use of process mapping, spreadsheet, project management, presentation and statistical analysis software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office environment)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver valuable results under aggressive schedules and deadlines
  • Lean Six Sigma (minimum Green Belt) or BPM Required
  • Some travel required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate multiple, concurrent Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects to deliver agreed-upon goals and outcomes for the business.
  • Lead and facilitate training and coaching of process improvement techniques and methodology including but not limited to Lean Six Sigma, Lean Management Systems, change management and performance management.
  • Support process owners and department leaders to achieve operational goals and improve team performance.
  • Demonstrate expertise and passion in process improvement methodologies in a manner that instills confidence for success with department leaders and employees.
  • Provide training, mentoring and consulting as appropriate to propagate process improvement knowledge, skills and understanding within the department and across the enterprise.
  • Develop and charter strategically aligned process improvement projects that are aggressive but realistic in scope and desired outcomes.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data to quantify process performance trends and to model data driven decision-making for the business.
  • Implement robust and focused process metrics and dashboards to help drive visual management throughout the organization.
  • Work both within the company and benchmark outside the company to identify and implement best practice solutions that optimize performance and standardize work processes.
  • Establish strong linkage between process improvement efforts and company strategies, goals, values and 'Sammons First' thinking.
