About The Position

Synapse ITS is looking for a Process Engineering Summer Intern to support our manufacturing operations in Greenville. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to how production processes are developed, documented, and improved. You’ll be involved in continuous improvement efforts, process documentation, and day-to-day manufacturing support in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, or operations
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Clear communication and documentation skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of Lean, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma concepts is a plus
Exposure to data analysis, Excel, or technical documentation is a plus

Responsibilities

Support process improvement initiatives and help optimize production workflows.
Assist with developing and updating work instructions and process documentation
Support time studies and help maintain production standard times
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction
Assist with process audits to identify improvement opportunities
Help analyze production data to support decision-making
Support troubleshooting efforts related to production issues, scrap, and downtime
Assist with basic Design of Experiments (DOE) and data collection activities
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams
Take on additional projects that support manufacturing and process improvement
