As part of the Maple Grove Process Development (PD) team, this position's primary responsibilities include leading a team of process engineers in advancing new products, processes, and technologies across one or more divisions. You will oversee the development and management of the people and processes required to ensure functional excellence and delivery of robust, scalable, high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. You will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and plant network initiatives. You will be tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team, capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business. This role will focus on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs. This role is focused on the diverse and highly dynamic Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) franchise within the Peripheral Intervention (PI) division.

  • Lead engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing processes, and successfully transfer into operations
  • Collaborate with R D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; monitor & troubleshoot performance and schedule issues, support & enable team to achieve objectives
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent
  • Create an inclusive, high-performing, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports and PD project team
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional work experience relevant to this role (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a leader of technical people and/or technical teams
  • Proven leadership and management of a technical group, providing coaching and development
  • Master's degree in engineering or business discipline
  • Chemical manufacturing/engineering education or experience
  • Previous experience supervising/managing direct reports
  • Experience leading teams in developing and transferring manufacturing processes and/or production lines throughout a global network
  • Working knowledge of Boston Scientific therapies and products
  • Experience working on development programs that span a wide range of functional and geographical reach
  • Vision to see what technologies are going to be needed in the future and ability to get them started with little oversight or guidance
  • Experience leading teams throughout a product life cycle, from exploratory to commercialization and end of life
  • Class II or Class III Medical Device product development experience
