About The Position

The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for all manufacturing processes & related engineering projects under the direction of the Plant Manager. This role involves coordinating all engineering activities within the Electronic Materials Brewster facility to produce quality products and meet cost objectives. The manager will lead the process engineering team to meet product producibility requirements in support of the production plan, improve overall plant functions, and ensure safe operating conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Metallurgy or 5+ years of experience with a technical degree.
  • Managerial/Supervisory experience required.
  • Six Sigma knowledge with Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience in a related industry is desirable.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop plans to meet producibility and yield goals.
  • Knowledge of metal processing factory processes.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Understanding of production routings, BOMs, and related master data within an ERP environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set engineering and continuous improvement plans to meet company goals.
  • Ensure process engineering meets business needs related to capabilities, processes, technologies, and capacity.
  • Develop and enforce a culture of strong engineering discipline.
  • Lead process improvement teams focused on scrap, cycle time, production costs, and rework reduction.
  • Provide guidance to process engineers in developing process control plans.
  • Accountable for the development of accurate routings, BOMs, and associated master data.
  • Develop metrics to monitor performance against goals and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure structured problem-solving techniques are used.
  • Develop and validate new processes prior to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain an effective engineering organization through personnel management.
  • Work with Plant Manager and Product Managers on new product transition strategies.
  • Comply with laws and company policies including Equal Opportunity Employment and safety regulations.
