About The Position

As part of the Arden Hills Electrical Process Development (EPD) team, this position's primary responsibilities include leading a team of process engineers in advancing new products, processes, and technologies across one or more divisions. You will oversee the development and management of the people and processes required to ensure functional excellence and delivery of robust, scalable, high-quality manufacturing test methods and processes to divisional and operations customers. You will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and Boston Scientific plant network initiatives. You will be tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business. This role will focus on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs. This role is focused on the diverse, highly dynamic, and rapidly growing Electrophysiology (EP) franchise/division. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five (5) days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a leader of technical people (not necessarily by means of holding direct reports)
  • Ability to travel (approximately 10%, domestic & international) at times to support development and transfer activities at various geographic locations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • Proven leadership and management of a technical group, providing coaching and development
  • Prior experience in medical device or other highly-regulated industry
  • Experience in the design, development and qualification of automated electrical test and inspection equipment
  • Experience leading teams in developing and transferring manufacturing processes and/or production lines throughout a global network
  • Working knowledge of Boston Scientific therapies and products within EP space
  • Experience working on development programs that span a wide range of functional and geographical reach
  • Vision to see what technologies are going to be needed in the future and ability to get them started with little oversight or guidance
  • Experience leading teams throughout a product life cycle from exploratory to commercialization and end of life
  • Leadership traits/skillsets combined with experience working with component/product vendors
  • Electrical and Software aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing electrical test processes and successfully transfer into operations
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; monitor & troubleshoot performance and schedule issues, support & enable team to achieve objectives
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide on-going feedback and coaching to direct reports and Process Development project team
