About the position

The Process Engineering Intern at MACOM will be responsible for sustaining existing GaAs IC, RF Power Transistors, and Diodes while developing new processes in the Lowell, MA wafer fab. This role involves planning and conducting experiments to characterize processes, driving improvements in quality, reliability, cost, yield, and productivity, and providing solutions to problems using formal education and statistical knowledge. The internship offers hands-on experience, training, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Sustain manufacturing processes to meet factory indicators.
• Plan and conduct experiments to characterize processes throughout the development cycle.
• Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity, and safety/ergonomics.
• Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
• Complete an individual project with defined outcome goals during the internship.
• Attend and present at a Poster Session about project successes and pitfalls.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Strong sense of ownership, enthusiasm, optimism, drive, and dedication to process improvement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and findings.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Analysis.
• Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
