What You’ll Do The Process Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to automation, process optimization, safety improvements, and quality enhancements across production operations. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support improvements in workflow efficiency, tooling organization, data accuracy, and overall process performance. This internship provides hands‑on experience with engineering problem solving, structured improvement methods, and exposure to manufacturing best practices.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Rising Junior or Senior preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work with data, perform basic analysis, and document findings
  • Familiarity with process improvement tools (Lean, 5S, root cause analysis) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to engage in hands‑on engineering activities

Responsibilities

  • Automate setup sheets to enable mass changes to temperature profiles
  • Support schedule automation tasks to streamline production planning
  • Develop and implement a Gemba walk visual management system
  • Address safety issues and assist in reducing JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) risks
  • Support quality trials, including design of experiments (DOE) and data collection
  • Participate in productivity and process improvement initiatives
  • Enhance 5S practices, including improving point‑of‑use tooling and workspace organization
