As a Process Engineering Intern you will be instrumental in the development of novel direct air capture “DAC” systems onsite in our development and production facility in Berkeley, California. You will work alongside our mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering teams and use your innovative thought process and optimistic mindset to propel the design and manufacturing of DAC systems. If you are excited to mitigate the impact of climate change at a groundbreaking climate technology startup, this is the role for you! This is a full time, Summer opportunity at our research and development facility in Berkeley, California. Pay rate: $25 per hour, plus up to $400 in travel reimbursement for those relocating from outside of the Bay Area. Please Note–due to the requirements of our federal contracts, we can only hire a U.S. Citizen for this role.

Requirements

  • All of your work experience is interesting to us–please include part time jobs, summer jobs, work/study, entrepreneurial endeavors, and volunteer work on your resume.
  • Completed Junior year or equivalent studying Chemical Engineering or a related field, by Summer 2025
  • Motivated, curious, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong drive to seek out your own projects and opportunities within the company
  • This position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with project teams including engineering, supply chain, and project managers
  • Work hands-on with experienced chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineers--y ou will get real world experience in our state of the art facility in Berkeley, California
  • Prepare PFDs and P&IDs for innovative DAC applications
  • Design, simulate, and engineer novel process systems using Aspen Plus
  • Analyze data from operational plants
