About The Position

Albemarle is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join the Operations team located in Kings Mountain, NC. The Process Engineer will resolve production, safety, and quality issues. They develop and implement tools and methods for process control and consistency, operator effectiveness, and continuous improvement. They should have experience predicting, preventing, and mitigating day-to-day production issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Preferably Chemical.
• 2+ Years of experience in operations/manufacturing environment.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Proven examples of developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Experience with SAP and OSI PI systems preferred.
• Practical knowledge concerning design and operation of common process equipment such as pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, piping, etc.
• Basic instrumentation knowledge (e.g., level, flow, pressure, etc.).
• Basic process control knowledge.
• Excellent written, verbal, computer, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience facilitating root cause analysis (RCA).

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality and production data of assigned products and proactively pursue improvements, including throughput and reducing variability.
• Analyze batch data/trends and lead team root cause analyses to solving product/process issues.
• Perform statistical analysis to lead quality initiatives.
• Develop and implement tools and methods for process control and consistency, operator effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
• Support consistent and safe manufacturing practices and compliance with site safety policies.
• Technical resource in Process Hazards Analysis.
• Develop and drive Management of Change per site policy.
• Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform incident investigations as needed.
• Solve problems to root cause and implement lasting solutions.
• Communicate complex ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
