About The Position

Job Duties and Responsibilities With minimal supervision, support assigned department(s).  This work will include overseeing & directing fixturing, tooling, error proofing, & gage design.  Experience with milling & turning required.  Must have strong CNC programming skills & be fluent in CAD.  Working knowledge of automation & controls is an advantage.  Assembly process experience is an advantage.   Job will require strong troubleshooting skills & ability to lead cross functional teams.  Will develop scopes of work, request quotations from vendors, submit requisitions, perform cost justifications, & participate in machine run-offs.  The Process Engineer is also responsible for helping to support plant goals such as safety, quality, delivery, & cost savings.  The process engineer must take ownership of projects & be able to work into off shift hours & weekends as needed.   GENERAL Develop & update documentation, including process sheets, PFMEA's & Control Plans. Train Production Supervisors & Team Leaders in production departments. Resolve quality & tooling issues. Assist in troubleshooting processes & machine issues.   Support layout development to facilitate Dana's production system.   Develop & maintain Poka-Yoke devices. Develop & maintain Automation solutions for manufacturing. Develop, update, & maintain documentation, including Process Sheets, PFMEA's & Control Plans ESTIMATING Responsible for timely completion of all estimates. Obtain quotations for new capital & tooling as needed. Blackboard or directional estimates as required. DIVISIONAL  Capacity analysis. Involved in Divisional Manufacturing Strategy. Planning of equipment moves within Ft Wayne & Group.

Requirements

  • Experience with milling & turning required
  • Must have strong CNC programming skills & be fluent in CAD
  • Job will require strong troubleshooting skills & ability to lead cross functional teams
  • B.S. degree & minimum 3 years related job experience; or 7 years' experience in related engineering field, technology field, CNC programming capability
  • Possess the ability to read & interpret engineering drawings & specifications, thorough understanding of GD&T, gaging, & print requirements is a must
  • Must have proven mechanical aptitude
  • Must work effectively, efficiently, & is a self-starter
  • Must demonstrate proficient written/verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Must be able to use various computer operating systems & software as necessary to complete required job functions.  These include, but are not limited to, PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc…), & machine specific operating system & software applications
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of the proper usage & application of measuring equipment
  • Must demonstrate convincing prior training & work experience in problem solving techniques
  • Must demonstrate strength of character to perform & succeed in a high-pressure manufacturing environment
