The key objective of this role is to reduce variation in operating methods thereby improving the reliability and repeatability of processes while leading comprehensive continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer will work to lead technician teams to standardize processes and procedures including, but not limited to, picking, loading, and maintenance of warehouse equipment. This role will work with MLC Leaders to ensure that the formal change process is used thereby ensuring that change proposals are appropriately evaluated prior to change. Provide process engineering support to MLC Departments under the direction of the CI Manager. Lead teams of Technicians to create and maintain standard documentation for the various operations in the MLC, ensuring uniformity across the network. Expected to stay current on industry standards and latest developments. Apply best practices and ensure that they are approved and documented. Critically analyze processes/systems/practices to identify gaps/opportunities for improvement. Focus on cost reduction programs, process improvements, and engineering service requests as well as evaluation and recommendation of process capital improvements and automation in coordination with Project Engineers. Develop the following documents for the assigned area: Department Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, maintain Process Audit Sheets, Startup & Shutdown procedures, and Operational Cleaning procedures/Develop documentation for new projects and maintain annually (or as required) for ongoing system. Work with Project Engineering to set appropriate documentation standards for vendors and contractors that will facilitate ease of use in developing training documentation for warehouse staff. Participate in documentation to support Journey to Excellence activities and projects. Assist with coaching and developing Technicians to improve their problem-solving skills, allowing them to be more effective team members. Teams may be formed to attack a specific defect/loss or to support a specific project/initiative
