Teledyne Technologies Incorporated provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability. These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research. We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins. Job Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to support new and existing product lines. This role focuses on identifying and implementing capacity improvement opportunities, conducting yield analysis, and leading yield improvement initiatives. The engineer defines equipment requirements and specifications, and evaluates processing techniques used in the manufacture, fabrication, and testing of products. Engagement may begin at any stage—from pre-production through full-scale manufacturing. Under general direction, the engineer supports Camera Assembly Operations, developing and maintaining methods, sequences, and processes for manufacturing parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The role interfaces with design and systems engineering to coordinate the release of new products, estimates manufacturing costs, establishes time standards, and recommends tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines. It also includes maintaining documentation and reporting systems for manufacturing operations. This is a highly independent role with significant organizational impact, requiring data-driven decision-making to support operational success and company growth.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to review product and equipment designs for Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Continuously improve overall manufacturing efficiency through the development of new techniques and by incorporating feedback from assembly personnel and the Manufacturing team.
  • Identify and implement product design changes that enhance manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide support across all stages of the production process, from Receiving Inspection through final shipment.
  • Define and develop production equipment solutions for both low- and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Lead initiatives to evaluate and integrate new concepts, automation technologies, and innovative approaches for process development and improvement.
  • Create detailed Assembly and Test Instructions for the production of infrared (IR) camera systems.
  • Specify and/or design tooling and assembly methods to optimize production floor operations.
  • Compile and analyze test data to establish process parameters and material specifications.
  • Implement Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to improve product traceability and process control.
  • Generate rework instructions for non-conforming materials to ensure quality and minimize waste.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
  • Experience with Gauge Studies and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Familiarity with calibration processes and industry standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with flexibility to support tasks beyond the Quality department as needed.
  • Willingness to travel 5–10% to supplier or customer locations.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and datum structures.
  • Understanding of ISO standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Experience with metrology and inspection methods, including contact and optical CMMs, handheld tools, and electronic test instruments.
  • Knowledge of audit processes and requirements.
  • Awareness of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls and best practices.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during design, testing, and production oversight activities.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach in manufacturing environments.
  • Visual acuity to read, schematics, and perform detailed inspections.
  • Tolerance for working in environments with moderate noise, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to manufacturing materials.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, closed toe shoes.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders to access equipment or elevated work areas.
  • Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Six Sigma methodologies; Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
