About The Position

As a Process Engineer in Manitowoc, WI, you may: play a key role in optimizing production workflows and supporting the integration of new fabrication technologies; apply hands-on experience in metal manufacturing processes to improve throughput, quality, and consistency; lead process development and optimization for laser cutting, forming, welding, and related fabrication operations; evaluate current operations, identify safety risks, and implement solutions that promote a safe and efficient work environment; drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, data analysis, and root‑cause problem solving; support fixture design, development, and implementation to improve repeatability and reduce cycle times; collaborate with suppliers, equipment vendors, and internal partners to support new technology integration and capital projects; assist with new product introductions and ensure manufacturability within metal fabrication processes, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred; internships and co-ops considered
  • Experience with laser cutting, CNC fabrication equipment, or sheet‑metal processes
  • Knowledge of fixture design, implementation, and optimization
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques, capability studies, process mapping, FMEA, and root cause analysis
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset
  • Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Creo and/or AutoCAD experience a strong plus
