About The Position

Manufactured Solutions is seeking a talented and experienced mechanical or manufacturing engineer. The successful candidate will lead and support Manufactured Solutions objectives by implementing improved manufacturing methods, capital equipment, and advancing manufacturing technology. The candidate will also provide technical and hands-on support for Operations and Distribution. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer leads/manages cross-functional projects to significantly improve the plant's competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a mix of high/low volume production.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and/or programming is a plus
  • New product design capability.
  • Previous Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
  • 3 + years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and time management, as well as organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
  • Demonstrated leadership of plant-wide activity

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's justification, development, and implementation of capital improvement projects.
  • Develop standard work instructions and training material and provide training to employees.
  • Work concurrently with engineering, sales, and marketing to develop new products, ensuring that manufacturing and lean thinking are integral to the product's design.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventative actions for production issues.
  • Participate in resolving product quality issues and assist manufacturing teams in resolving process, equipment, or tooling issues.
  • Develop, verify, and approve manufacturing-related data for routings and bills of material for new products and changes to existing routings and BOMs. Perform shop-floor verification of routings and bills of material data.
  • Design products, equipment, gauging, and tooling utilizing AutoCAD or Solidworks solid modeling software and other engineering analysis and design tools.
  • Recommend and implement changes in products and processes to improve manufacturability and profitability (cost out), including functional review of drawings and Engineering specifications.
  • Mentor and train employees at all plant levels in implementing projects and systems to build an industry-leading team of competent, effective, and quality-conscious individuals. This position requires strong interpersonal skills.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and distribution teams within the assigned area of focus, including benchmarking and maintenance of best practices.
  • Work with our Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Operations Managers to champion lean implementation in the assembly/manufacturing process utilizing lean manufacturing methods to cut product cycle time and costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to help create a culture of innovation and trust.
