About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing process improvements and technologies within the company. This role plays a key function in ensuring efficient and cost-effective production processes that meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 2 to 4 years experience as a process engineer in a related field OR 5-10 years of hands-on manufacturing experience doing process improvement projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and quality control procedures.
  • Must have solid working knowledge in food production processing, packaging equipment, utilities.
  • Must have project management skills, be detailed oriented, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Must have sound planning and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TPM - EAM, PM & AM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify potential areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to optimize production efficiency.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting process-related issues and developing preventive maintenance plans.
  • Assist in evaluating capital investment opportunities related to process improvements and technologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for process improvement projects.
  • Monitor and report on the financial impact of process improvements and capital project on the operations budget.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues related to process inefficiencies or quality control.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for production processes.
  • Lead projects related to process improvements, train and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to evaluate and introduce new technologies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance, Environmental, Health and Safety, NWT, and Kaizen teams to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Manage small plant projects including small capital projects to improve plant technology, processes and equipment upgrades.

  • Salary Range: 80,000+ DOE plus 10% STI bonus (annually).
