Kemira is looking for an experienced Process Engineer
in our Marietta, Georgia, production facility.
We are looking for someone to work in the plant on process and project engineering activities. This will include process improvements and modifications, new project development and implementation, preparing capital projects, and troubleshooting existing process problems. This person will also assist with process safety and management of change for the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

• Chemical engineering degree
• 4+ years of experience with chemical manufacturing, involving batch reactions and PSM processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
• Demonstrated track record of self-motivation and skills growth.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects simultaneously within tight timeframes.
• Strong interactive skills with all levels of plant organization.
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Demonstrated Process Engineering and project support skillset including most of following: Process troubleshooting Material & energy balances Equipment sizing & specification PFD development Equipment startup & commissioning Automation & controls knowledge Project scope development Design safety reviews Contractor management Equipment ordering Process Hazard Analysis leadership

Responsibilities

• Improving chemical production and utility processes.
• Collaborating with production staff to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Coordinating process safety activities, including: Management of Change Process hazard analysis Pre-start up reviews Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for process incidents.
• Managing plant-wide improvement idea system.
• Training personnel on new / changed processes.
• Regulatory reporting and environmental protection activities.
• Providing technical and process safety support for new / experimental product trials.
• Developing and updating operating procedures, P&IDs, engineering records.
• Supporting or leading capital projects.
• Identifying and leading efforts to reduce emissions, energy and water consumption.
• Developing competency to fill in for team members as needs arise.
