About The Position

The Process Engineer analyzes, investigates, and examines processes throughout manufacturing to reduce defects and facilitate continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and three to five-years related experience and/or training.
  • Trained in Hazard Communications and Hazardous Material Operations Level
  • Ability to work with Blueprints and Schematics
  • Work with various computer programs

Nice To Haves

  • Other engineering disciplines may be considered with satisfactory film manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates, examines and recommends new equipment, technology, and methods to reduce waste, defects and improve productivity.
  • Investigates quality and production problems to determine root causes. Analyzes data and uses advanced problem solving techniques to recommend and implement solutions.
  • Analyzes quality and production data to determine process capabilities, trends, drifts, and shifts. Recommends solutions and implements controls to reduce variation.
  • Initiates preventative actions to prevent quality problems before they occur.
  • Establishes work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capabilities of machines and equipment.
  • Has the authority to stop or modify work process on non-conforming product or services per Quality ManualManagement Responsibility and Authority.
  • Provide employee training and compliance with company safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements and OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible for hazardous waste management in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Attend company provided annual Haz-Com and Haz-Waste Training.
  • Conducts internal audits (quality-related and 5s) as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Completes quality and improvement projects as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • The Process Engineer is required to adhere to, and assist in enforcing Solamatrix safety guidelines.
  • Participate, or assist, in identifying how the work that you do that affects the quality, or impacts the environmental aspects of the products or services we provide to customer(s)
