Arxada is seeking a highly motivated Production/Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for daily operations support, process optimization, and capital project execution, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Chem. Eng, Mech Eng. or related field of study
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in process engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data in excel
  • Understanding of process improvements
  • Knowledge of capital project development, execution, and field implementation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a participative work environment.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Proficiency with Process Design software (ChemCAD, Pipenet, Pipeflow, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support Arxada’s safety culture, ensuring safe work practices to prevent injuries, process, distribution, and environmental incidents.
  • Monitor EHS performance, including environmental compliance, and follow up on incident corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper management, storage, and handling of waste.
  • Review monthly safety audits and participate in Process Hazard Review (PHA) follow-ups.
  • Enforce plant and area housekeeping standards.
  • Provide daily coordination of work activities in assigned areas, maintaining compliance with cGMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
  • Set daily production rates to balance personnel and process constraints while meeting demand.
  • Monitor equipment utilization, on-stream rates, process quality, and direct operators on necessary adjustments.
  • Review log sheets, PI sheets, and ensure accuracy of process documentation.
  • Support operator training and ensure procedures are current, compliant, and available in the Document Management System.
  • Partner with Maintenance to prioritize work orders, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain mechanical integrity.
  • Support equipment inspections, facilities upkeep, and preparation of equipment for maintenance.
  • Ensure work orders are entered and tracked in SAP.
  • Provide technical expertise to operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Conduct process modeling, design calculations, and mass/energy balances.
  • Develop and update process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment/instrumentation specifications.
  • Perform material analysis, corrosion studies, and evaluate long-term equipment durability.
  • Assess constructability, operability, and recommend equipment upgrades.
  • Support and manage capital projects ranging from $10K to $200K; serve as a design stakeholder on larger projects up to $5MM (with Global Engineering as needed).
  • Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, vendor evaluations, and Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
  • Identify and implement process improvement, automation, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Drive productivity improvements, cost savings, and safety enhancements through technology adoption and best practices.
  • Mentor interns and co-op participants, guiding small projects that provide meaningful contributions and hands-on learning
