About The Position

Process Engineer - Valdosta, GA This is a salaried-exempt position The ADM Valdosta, GA Facility is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support and optimize the food and feed manufacturing processes onsite. As a member of the production team, the Process Engineer will utilize their engineering skills and experience in collaboration with colleagues to support operational excellence and continuous process improvements in all facets of the operation.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience as a Process Engineer in a food, feed, or chemical continuous manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player, working cross-functionally with teams in operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Effective critical and systematic thinking capabilities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to move around by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently.
  • May also require periods of prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Must be comfortable and capable of performing work at heights, on ladders, scaffolding or catwalks when required.

Responsibilities

  • Understand each and every area/process of the department.
  • Follow and enforce follow policies, procedures, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Support and assist production and maintenance with daily routines, tasks, demands, meetings, and priority issues.
  • Follow instructions received from plant manager, superintendents, managers, and supervisors.
  • Proactively research problems and research best practices from plants within the company to ensure facility compliance on standards for natural gas, steam, nitrogen usage, and hexane.
  • Facilitate and manage permitting processes, which includes, but is not limited, to: LOTO, Hot Work, Line Break, Rail Encroachment, Confined Space.
  • Perform and execute safety audits and safety action plans.
  • Prepare production reports on daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Lead projects, process tests, and shift teams.
  • Assist in development of production colleagues by providing mentoring, training, and technical support.
  • Be an advocate and role model for Safety and actively participate in Safety, Environmental and Quality programs.
  • Prepare and conduct trainings.
  • May be required to work on shift to cover for supervisors and area superintendents as part of career development or cover vacancies to support and sustain production as needed.
  • Propose, develop and implement improvements in production processes, equipment, and teams to optimize operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare, develop, and perform maintenance project scopes (SOW) during shutdowns.
  • Lead Environmental, Quality, and Customer audits and site visits.
  • Track KPIs and develop action plans with deliverable for KPIs that are out of spec.
  • Must be willing to be on-call to support plant operations including weekends, night shifts, when required.
  • Complete tasks in Sphera and Gemini; create MOCs and SOPs as needed; and be knowledgeable using WAVE.
  • Facilitate and/or delegate colleagues and contractors as instructed by management to complete tasks without endangerment to personnel safety, food safety, and/or the environment.
