About The Position

Process Design Engineer Port Neches, TX Long term in plant assignment offering competitive pay, benefits and more! Job Summary: The Process Design Engineer provide process analysis and design for IOD’s olefin, oxides, oxide derivatives, and specialty chemical manufacturing units. Activities include identifying, defining, justifying, and implementing capital and non-capital improvement projects improving operational effectiveness and meeting business objectives. In addition, this role participates in unit problem troubleshooting, process hazard analysis and other process analysis support of operating units.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred. Degree’s in other engineering or related disciplines will be considered with relevant experience.
5-15 years experience including 2 years in process design along with operating experience in a chemical or similar process is a required.
Aspen Plus or equivalent simulation software

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in several Chemical Engineering sub-disciplines (fluid flow, heat transfer, distillation/separations, process control, modeling, reaction engineering) is a plus.
Operational experience with Ethylene, Ethylene Oxide or their derivatives is desired.

Responsibilities

Completes Process Design Packages to support process improvements which includes PFD and P&ID development, equipment and instrumentation process spec sheets and preliminary Process control strategies.
Effectively completes the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) activities and follows the Project Implementation Process.
Functions as process design engineer on licensing and capital projects developing PFDs, P&IDs, and multiple design data sheets for a variety of process equipment and processes.
Design Package reviews, Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Incident Investigations, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
