About The Position

As an entry level Process Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing short-term and long-term process improvement strategies. You will develop and maintain programs for supporting MOC and PSM, and you’ll provide engineering support at the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably chemical or mechanical.
  • 0-1 year of engineering/maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably with continuous operating equipment and discrete unit operations specifically with rotating components.
  • Experience utilizing BricsCAD/AutoCAD in the development of P&ID’s.
  • Proven track record of Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to production for equipment operating problems.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop procedures.
  • Ability to effectively supervise contractors and filial maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation drawings from vendors and design engineers.
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM ITPM component, RCA procedures and RCM.
  • Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Centralized Mechanical Maintenance Systems, MS Project software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, identify, and implement strategies to improve safety, efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes.
  • Developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates, quality of output and product reliability.
  • Creating and maintaining P&ID’s.
  • Ensuring that all processes and procedures comply with safety and environmental regulations, inclusive of PSM compliance.
  • Initiate and implement maintenance related small capital projects that result in improvement of process efficiency, upgrading of utility systems or improved operational safety.
  • Provide input into the selection of new equipment capable of providing improved operations and reduced downtime.
  • Support maintenance and engineering groups as needed.
  • Enforce and contribute to the development of safety procedures, checklists, and training materials.
  • Develop and conduct risk assessments, Pre-Start Up Safety Review, process safety information, and all other documentation for the MOC/PCN process.
  • Process improvement related to product quality, concentrations, and variance reduction in manufacturing.
  • Assist with troubleshooting internal processing inefficiencies by helping review raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • All other items as required.
