The Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for all aspects to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction. This role involves understanding and performing all tasks according to the specific Job Safety Practices (JSP) established for the job, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and adhering to all Prysmian health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations. The Process Engineer will assist and coordinate with management in the development of capital equipment requirements and budgets, design tooling and equipment, analyze complex customer issues, and develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.

  • Responsible for understanding and performing all tasks and responsibilities according to the specific Job Safety Practices (JSP) established for this job.
  • Responsible for safety and housekeeping procedures and for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Prysmian health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, including hazardous waste handling if designated and trained.
  • Assists and coordinates with management in the development of capital equipment requirements and budgets.
  • Designs and/or designates tooling and equipment to support new and existing products in all areas of the plant.
  • Analyzes complex customer issues using statistical tools.
  • Designs experiments on materials and processes to assist the facility in improving and reducing product costs.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
  • Writes appropriation requests for tooling, equipment, and systems.
  • Directs the installation and debugging of departmental equipment and systems.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, material, or parts.
  • Provides hands-on assistance to maintenance and other engineering personnel.
  • Responsible for initiating corrective actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities.
  • Works with manufacturing on process techniques and process problem-solving.
  • Maintains customer and vendor contacts for technical developments.
  • Instructs and trains maintenance, supervision, and production in proper techniques.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry standards.
  • Responsible for adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Maintains a fundamental understanding of all equipment and processes.
  • Short notice international travel to address customer concerns.
  • Performs external supplier audits.
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of three years hands-on engineering experience in industry, preferred wire manufacturing.
  • Experienced in CAD System, MS Office, automation controls, database programming.
  • Experienced with SQL programming, OSHA, EHS, TS16949 knowledge required.
  • Must have Allen Bradley experience.
