Under general direction, the Process Engineer develops and optimizes methods to maintain process control and make significant improvements to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. The role involves defining process controls and driving best-in-class performance in quality and first-time yield. The Process Engineer identifies, analyzes, and delivers on process improvement to eliminate casting defects using Six Sigma and Lean tools. The position supports production to ensure attainment of business goals, including addressing quality issues and working directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure a smooth running operation. Additionally, the engineer analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Compliance with work procedures and instructions, as well as environmental, health and safety standards, is essential.

  • Define process controls and drive best-in-class performance in quality and first-time yield
  • Identify, analyze, and deliver on process improvement to eliminate casting defects using Six Sigma and Lean tools
  • Support production to ensure attainment of business goals, including addressing quality issues
  • Work directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure a smooth running operation
  • Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements
  • Ensure manufacturing compliance with work procedures and instructions
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, industry specifications, customer requirements, and company standards
  • Perform other assigned tasks as necessary
  • Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma Tools, at minimum a willingness to learn and apply the tools
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effective communication skills: Listening, Verbal and Written
  • Self-motivated, committed, with a bias for action that delivers results
  • Understanding of metal manufacturing processes
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BSc.) or higher in Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • A broad and thorough knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods
  • 3-5 Years of experience
