We are recruiting for a Process Engineer—Thermoplastics for our Amesbury, MA, location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Plastics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a thermoplastics manufacturing environment desired.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong problem solving, facilitation and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement techniques preferred; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret customer specifications.
  • Identify risks in meeting customer requirements.
  • Manage products specifications, process documentation, and costing in ERP and MES systems.
  • Identify, validate and implement process improvements that optimize production efficiencies, improve product quality, reduce wastes, and promotes safer working conditions.
  • Responsible for the specification, sourcing, qualification and implementation of new tooling and equipment.
  • Cost products to support quotation of new business and cost audits of existing products.
  • Investigate and resolve production variances to support accurate costing and inventory management.
  • Troubleshoot process issues to resolve variances to internal or external quality requirements, costs or throughput targets.
  • Develop capacity models for production work cells.
  • Identify and mitigate constraints to meeting production targets.
  • Develop work instructions and train operators to achieve production and quality standards.
  • Utilize CAD to communicate requirements for parts, tooling and equipment.
