POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Provide support and leadership for all Process Engineering activities throughout New Product Development and Sustaining; to lead the group in creating efficient and repeatable processes on all new and existing molds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 10+ year- experience in injection molding process development required
  • Thorough knowledge of resin characteristics
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical assembly processes and tooling.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and maintain efficient processes of personnel
  • Strong team player, self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • RJG Master Molder 1 certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assignment/distribution of work load, coordinating with the Program Managers, Tooling Engineers and Scheduling for optimum turn-around time on samples.
  • Recommend and improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and production efficiency.
  • Guide and monitor all sampling activity
  • Ensure that Scientific Molding Guidelines are followed throughout the development of the process
  • Work with design, manufacturing, production, engineers and tooling during the entire development cycle.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Attend all NPD and Sustaining meetings pertaining to current projects
  • Responsible for the development of processes consistent with good manufacturing practices and documented development methodologies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting processes and materials; this includes working with floor personnel and outside resources when needed.
  • Perform research, design and development of new technologies.
  • Work with Design Engineers to design a mold that is optimal for processing
  • Maintain supplier guidelines.
  • Responsible for sampling new resins.
  • Support quoting on new projects and communicate current and historical issues in regards to materials.
  • Ensure use of RJG technology throughout development
  • Other duties as assigned.
