The position is responsible for direct technical support & defining the methodology by which printed circuit boards assemblies are manufactured efficiently and consistently in order to meet customer quality requirements. The role involves applying common engineering principles to identify and quantify improvement opportunities for product design and process methodology, analyzing yield and statistical process control data, preparing project plans, and managing engineering project assignments.

  • Responsible for direct technical support & defining the methodology for PCB assemblies.
  • Applies engineering principles to identify and quantify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyzes yield and statistical process control data and provides corrective actions.
  • Prepares project plans and manages/executes completion in a time-critical manner.
  • Manages and executes engineering project assignments related to process capacity, capability, cost reduction, efficiency, technology advancement, and customer support.
  • Programming implementation and initial setup of production equipment.
  • Develops work instructions and machine programs using offline programming software.
  • Responsible for setup and maintenance of component package library.
  • Carries out cost-effective design, installation, method of transfer, monitoring, and modification of manufacturing processes.
  • Provides immediate technical support to production staff.
  • Performs and documents 8D root cause / corrective action investigations.
  • Ensures compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • BS Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing) or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to interpret customer documentation (Blueprints, drawings, bills of material, specifications).
  • Experience with offline programming using Valor Process Prep is a plus.
  • Experience with surface mount and solder process is a plus.
  • Hands-on skills for mechanical assembly; hardware installation, epoxy application.
  • Use of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Cross-functional communication skills, partnering across engineering, quality, and operations.
  • Previous engineering experience within a PCBA environment.
  • Working knowledge of Industry and Military Standards.
