About The Position

What We’re Building Candid is building the AI layer for EPCs. We use AI to automate the repetitive process engineering tasks that slow projects down. This includes updating PFDs and P&IDs, running simulations, validating heat and material balances, preparing datasheets, coordinating with other disciplines, and closing tasks. Our goal is to make preconstruction 10x faster. We recently raised $6.5M from top AI and industrial investors (including Schneider Electric and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist). Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, major LNG and power projects, and leading EPCs. What You Will Do You will help us encode the real process engineering workflow inside an EPC: PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances Simulation runs and process calculations Relief valve sizing, hydraulics, line sizing Process datasheets and discipline handoffs Interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation Show where rework happens, why it happens, and which steps can be automated Your experience becomes the blueprint for an AI that handles the repetitive parts of process engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years at an EPC, PMC, or owner-operator
• Strong understanding of FEED and Detailed Design workflows
• Experience with PFD and P&ID development
• Experience running simulations in Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar tools
• Knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, or similar standards
• Ability to spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packages
• Clear understanding of cross-discipline dependencies

Nice To Haves

• Experience taking process design from concept to detailed engineering
• Familiarity with flare system modeling, relief calculations, and hydraulics
• Interest in AI or automation
