Standardizing plant operations across multiple facilities with the goal of minimizing process yield loss and providing exceptional quality products and services. Developing and maintaining manufacturing specifications with each plant running MDO production. Leading efforts to identify potential step changes to improve overall operations. Training and developing employees to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increasing technical knowledge. Supporting the product development group with product improvement projects, including managing the commercial trial process. Identifying, prioritizing, coordinating, and monitoring process improvements for the plant with waste reduction, throughout improvement, and quality enhancement. Taking lead for documenting process improvements and new operating directives for multiple sites running MDO process in the division. Maintaining safety, quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties. Ensuring that all improvement projects meet Amcor/OSHA safety requirements including careful attention to management of change process. Working closely with division quality group to ensure that all quality policies and procedures are followed. Be a liaison between R&D and operations to ensure all parties are aligned and working towards the same objectives. Develops and scales up to commercialization of new MDO film products and provides core maintenance on these products by staying abreast of new technology. Also responsible for taking the commercial product technology to the “next generation” through process optimization and collaboration with the R&D development engineers. Could be expected to travel between 10-30% of time.
